YD Karaoke Studio operates in full compliance with California State laws and regulations. We are committed to responsible alcohol service and maintaining a safe environment.
YD Karaoke Studio is licensed by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) and adheres to all state regulations for on-premise alcohol service.
Our Commitment:
- All staff members complete mandatory Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training
- Valid California ABC license maintained at all times
- Regular compliance audits and staff training updates
- Zero-tolerance policy for underage drinking
In accordance with California law, we strictly enforce age verification policies to prevent underage drinking and ensure compliance with state regulations.
✓ Acceptable Forms of ID:
- Valid U.S. State Driver's License
- U.S. State or Federal Government Issued ID
- U.S. Passport and/or Passport Card
- Military ID issued by U.S. Department of Defense
- Valid Foreign Passport
✗ NOT Acceptable:
- Green Cards
- International Driver's Licenses
- Photocopies of IDs
- Fake or altered IDs (subject to seizure and law enforcement notification)
Age Requirements:
- 21+All customers in a room must be 21+ if alcohol is to be served (no exceptions)
- 18+All customers must be 18+ if your party stays after 10:00 PM
Per Business and Professions Code 25660, we accept only "Bona Fide" identification that is currently valid, issued by a government agency, and contains all required criteria.
California law strictly prohibits selling, furnishing, or giving alcoholic beverages to persons under 21 years of age.
Legal Violations Include:
- Selling, providing, or giving alcoholic beverages to persons under 21
- Minors under 21 purchasing or consuming alcohol on premises
- Licensees permitting persons under 21 to consume alcohol on premises
Penalties for Violations:
- Selling/furnishing to minor: $1,000 fine + 24 hours community service (minimum)
- General violations: $250 fine or 24-32 hours community service
- Great bodily injury/death: 6-12 months jail + $3,000 fine
- Business penalties: License suspension or revocation
⚠️ Important Notice:
This is a strict liability offense - the law does not require proof that the establishment knew the person was underage. Therefore, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy and reserve the right to refuse service to anyone whose age cannot be verified with acceptable identification.
Our staff has the legal right to seize fraudulent or altered IDs. Per California law, seized IDs are turned over to local law enforcement within 24 hours, and a receipt is provided.
All YD Karaoke Studio staff members who serve, sell, or deliver alcoholic beverages are required to obtain and maintain valid California RBS certification.
RBS Training Requirements (Assembly Bill 1221):
- Completion of ABC-accredited RBS training program
- Passing the California ABC-administered RBS exam within 60 days of employment
- Training covers ID verification, recognizing intoxication, and intervention techniques
- Regular recertification and continuing education
Our Staff Is Trained To:
- Properly verify age and identify fake IDs
- Recognize signs of intoxication
- Refuse service to intoxicated patrons
- Prevent overconsumption and underage drinking
- Handle difficult situations professionally
California law grants licensees and employees the explicit right to refuse service in the following circumstances:
Any person whose age or majority is questionable and cannot provide valid identification
Any person who appears visibly intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Any person who refuses bag or body search by security/staff (entry may be denied)
Any person who violates establishment policies or creates a disturbance
Our workers have the right to refuse services at their discretion to maintain a safe and compliant environment. This is a legal protection under California ABC regulations.
YD Karaoke Studio maintains comprehensive security and safety policies to ensure a safe environment for all guests and comply with California regulations.
Prohibited Items:
- Outside food or beverages (held at front desk)
- Weapons of any kind
- Illegal substances
- Items that could damage property
Safety Measures:
- Security/staff bag checks at entry
- Age verification for all guests
- Monitoring of premises for safety
- Compliance with fire safety codes
Customer Responsibilities:
- Provide valid government-issued photo ID upon request
- Comply with staff instructions and establishment policies
- Report any safety concerns to staff immediately
- Be responsible for personal belongings and time management
- Arrange safe transportation if consuming alcohol
